It seems that the world has gone mad. It's not as if I've only just noticed it, but I'm just too lazy to coment on it. You see, some people think that all exams are excellent. I am not included in this category of people by the way. I can proove that these people love these exams as well. Politicians are complaining that our current way of testing- the General certificate standard examinations- or the G.C.S.E's to me and you, are too easy. It sounds dumb. And it is. They say, and I quote ;"The young people of today need something more challenging to proove to Universities and Colleges that they are worthy of a place[in their establishment]". This was a Lib Dem on the BBC Parliment channel a few days ago. I can't remember who, just the quote. Anyway, what this guy was saying was that the children of today needed something to keep them off the streets and to get them working. Now, sorry, but what'll happen if you get even harder exams, these kids won't even bother, because half of them aren't good enough. Secondly, aren't the current exams hard enough? Seriously, we barely get 65% of year 11ers through GCSE's, without making it harder. If you want to make the exams harder, make optional ones, because those kids that can't do bugger all except drive a stolen Honda Civic for 20 minutes before being "nicked" will just sod off and drink! Now, to be honest, these politicians think they're all good at exams because they got 10 A* or whatever, but the fact is, exams are getting harder and harder. I'm not certain what David Cameron had to do for his Welsh GCSE, but i doubt it had to with learing 15 poems. So there.
All the best.
